DESCRIPTION:Memorial University of Newfoundland is pleased to host the 25th International Domain Decomposition Conference\, DD XXV\, in St. John’s\, Newfoundland\, Canada\, July 23-27\, 2018. \nA tutorial style short-course\, providing both theory and practical computing\, is tentatively scheduled for July 21-22\, 2018. More details to come. If you think the short-course is of interest then hold off making travel arrangement until the schedule matures. \nThe purpose of the meeting is to discuss recent developments in various aspects of domain decomposition methods bringing together mathematicians\, computational scientists\, and engineers who are working on numerical analysis\, scientific computing\, and computational science with industrial applications.

SUMMARY:20th International Conference on Descriptional Complexity of Formal Systems (DCFS)
DESCRIPTION:DCFS\, the International Workshop on Descriptional Complexity of Formal Systems is an annual academic conference in the field of theoretical computer science. Beginning with the 2011 edition\, the proceedings of the workshop appear in the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Already since the very beginning\, extended versions of selected papers are published as special issues of the International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science\, the Journal of Automata\, Languages and Combinatorics\, Theoretical Computer Science\, and Information and Computation. \nThis year’s DCFS will be the 20th in the series. Topics of interest include: automata\, grammars\, succinctness of description of objects\, circuit complexity\, Kolmogorov complexity\, frontiers between decidability and undecidability\, nature-motivated (bio-inspired) architectures and unconventional models of computing.
