Canadian Undergraduate Math Conference 2018
June 11, 2018 - June 15, 2018
The CUMC is a national mathematics conference designed to introduce research topics and skills to undergraduates. Students are encouraged to present their mathematical topic of interest in a relaxed and friendly environment, and are at the same time exposed to areas of mathematics that they may not have seen before. By placing an emphasis on bilingualism, regional diversity, and non-competitiveness, the CUMC motivates young researchers to further their knowledge and continue in their pursuit of mathematics. The CUMC provides an opportunity for undergraduates to meet and share ideas with their peers from across the country and gives an introduction to the research process and to new and exciting topics in mathematics. Presentations by established keynotes will give attendees a glimpse into mathematics as it is practiced in both academia and industry, while those by emerging young researchers will motivate undergraduates to explore for themselves mathematics beyond the curriculum.
