Atlantic General Relativity Workshop and Conference
The 2018 Atlantic General Relativity Conference will be held from June 6th to 7th at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada. On June 5th, there will be a one day workshop which will be aimed at the level of intermediate to advanced graduate students. The format will include ample time for discussion and collaboration. As in previous years, the theme of Atlantic GR Conference will be all aspects of classical and quantum gravity. The format will consist…

The 34th Conference on the Mathematical Foundations of Programming Semantics (MFPS 2018) will take place at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, from June 6–9, 2018. MFPS conferences are dedicated to the areas of mathematics, logic, and computer science that are related to models of computation in general, and to semantics of programming languages in particular. This is a forum where researchers in mathematics and computer science can meet and exchange ideas. The participation of researchers in neighbouring areas is strongly…
Find out more »Theory Canada 13
The Theory Canada conference is organized annually immediately ahead of the meeting of the Canadian Association of Physics. This year, TC13 will be held at St-Francis Xavier University as a satellite to the CAP meeting hosted by Dalhousie University. Once again Theory Canada will bring together professional researchers from across the country to exchange ideas on broad themes in theoretical and mathematical physics: (i) Condensed Matter Theory (ii) Mathematical Physics (iii) Particles and Fields (iv) Quantum Information (v) Relativity, Gravitation…

18th International Conference on Fibonacci Numbers and Applications
The purpose of the conference is to bring together people from all branches of mathematics and, to a lesser extent, from other sciences with interests in recurrence sequences, their applications and generalizations, and other special sequences of numbers and functions. Since 1984, these biennial conferences have alternated between both sides of the Atlantic, and this year it is hosted in Canada for the first time. The Fibonacci Conference series is unusual among mathematics conferences in that there are no invited…

The Atlantic Association for Research in the Mathematical Sciences (AARMS) will host its first Industrial Problem Solving Workshop (IPSW) from July 3 to 6 at Dalhousie University. At this event, representatives from Atlantic Canadian companies will present academically interesting and industrial relevant problems to graduate students and faculty mentors. The mentors and students work intensively on the problems for a few days and then present their solutions back to the industrial representatives.

The CUMC is a national mathematics conference designed to introduce research topics and skills to undergraduates. Students are encouraged to present their mathematical topic of interest in a relaxed and friendly environment, and are at the same time exposed to areas of mathematics that they may not have seen before. By placing an emphasis on bilingualism, regional diversity, and non-competitiveness, the CUMC motivates young researchers to further their knowledge and continue in their pursuit of mathematics. The CUMC provides an…
Find out more »Dalhousie Math Camp for High School Students
Every year in July the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Dalhousie University organizes and hosts the math camp whose goals are to identify, stimulate and encourage mathematical talent among Nova Scotia high school students. The camp is normally jointly sponsored by the AARMS, Dalhousie University and the Canadian Mathematical Society. It consists of lectures and problem-solving sessions conducted by faculty and graduate students from Dalhousie, Mount Saint Vincent and Acadia Universities and also includes extracurricular activities which are held…

The CIAA conference series was started in 1996 as the Workshop on Implementation and Application of Automata, in London, Ontario, Canada, and became Conference on Implementation and Application of Automata four years later, in 2000, when was celebrated half century of automata theory during HCAT 2000, in London, Ontario, Canada. The conference brings together researchers from both computing theory and practice, and the contributions to this conference cover all practical and theoretical aspects in automata theory and related structures. Topics…
