On Saturday November 23rd, professors and educators from Atlantic Canada got together for the AARMS annual outreach meeting. They shared their expertise and the latest news concerning the outreach activities that are held within their communities. A discussion about the future of outreach in the region, and how we can support it by sharing ressources and experiences followed.
Two invited presentations about outreach activities were given. Mayada Shahada from Dalhousie NS MathCircles presented their program of school visits all across Nova Scotia, while a team from St. Francis Xavier University (Lisa Lunney Borden, Tara Taylor, and Robert van den Hoogen) presented their longstanding involvement in the project Connecting math to our lives and communities, a highly regarded program in Indigenous Outreach.
We thank the members of the outreach community in Atlantic Canada for their dedication and passion, and look forward to implement the suggestions that were discussed.
